In the year 1971 some classic old songs were written like 'Imagine' by John Lennon, 'Starway to Heaven' by Led Zeppelin and 'Maggie May' by Rod Stewart.











John Lennon's song Imagine went like this;

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one

And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

Sharing all the world

These words seem so appropriate at a time like this were wars are raging across our planet. But John Lennon's solution, no heaven or hell, no religion is a misguided hope. It's only in heaven when complete peace will come. This is the image of peace we look forward to as Christians,

"After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands." Rev 7:9

It's not God's fault this world is in the sad state it's in... we've messed it up.
